The Madison Satellite [MadSat] played this relief-aid concert in collaboration with The World Harp Orchestra [WHO], based in San Diego, and several other "satellites" across USA and Canada -- the same music, the same story, the same cause. Learn about: WHO.

The WHO beneficiary was The Salvation Army [SA] national organization providing worldwide disaster relief to any disaster victim in need, regardless of race, religion or gender orientation. Ticket purchasers and other donors were invited to specify: for Katrina victims, tsunami victims, Pakistan earthquake victims, other or where needed most.

In addition, MadSat played for Access Community Health Centers [ACHC], a local non-profit organization that operates medical and dental clinics serving Dane County residents who have the least resources and the most significant needs.

MadSat had 21 players of harps of all kinds, pedal harps, non-pedal harps, Celtic harps, ethnic harps and therapy harps, plus the Celtic band Stone Ring, Madison Bagpipers Tom Greenhalgh and Sean Michael Dargan, a narrator and dancers from the Trinity Academy of Irish Dance. Almost every performer made it in spite of a snow storm.

All persons working on this Madison event, performers, organizer, publicity and graphic design professionals were volunteers.

Sponsors paid costs of hall rental, advertising/publicity, printing of tickets and program, and PayPal fees. No income from ticket sales and donations was used to pay expenses. 100% of income went to our beneficiaries as fully tax deductible [to the donors] charitable contributions.
